Rosa L. McGill

March 18, 1932 ~ March 1, 2022 (age 89)


MRS. ROSA LEE WOODARD McGILL was born on Friday, March 18, 1932 in Wayne County, Mississippi, to the union of the late Allen J. Woodard, Sr. and Lena Satcher Woodard. She was the third of eight siblings, and there were three of them to proceed her in death: one sister, Collie C. Arrington, and two brothers:  Curtis C. Woodard and Clinton J. Woodard.

Earlier in life, Rosa joined the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a faithful servant.  She later accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior. She served faithfully and dutifully in the church until her health failed her.  During her years of servitude, she worked in various areas within the church such as:  The Outreach Ministry, Church Culinary President, and Custodian.  She presided as a Sunday School teacher where she held the position for 37 years.  She was also the president of the Women Mission Auxiliary until death and many more positions.  During her workforce years, she worked at the Riverview High School in the cafeteria for a number of years, and she also worked for several years at Northern Electric Company.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa L. McGill will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 at 2:00 PM at  Bethlehem Cemetery in Shubuta MS. Pastor Terry Jones will act as the officiant. 

Mrs. McGill, 89, of Shubuta MS, departed her life March 1, 2022 at South Central Medical Center in Laurel, MS. She was a retired textile employee. 

There will be a viewing period for Mrs. McGill Monday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home in Waynesboro MS.
