Melinda (MeMe) Kay Gray was born to Robert William Gray and Sadie Pearl (Nobles) Gray on 21 February 1971, in Waynesboro, MS and her earthly journey climaxed 9 November 2023, in Meridian, MS. Early in life, she joined the Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, later confessed Christ, and served as an usher.
Melinda is a 1989 graduate of Waynesboro Central High School. She received an Associate of Arts Degree in Accounting from Jones County Junior College May 2011, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business / Accounting from William Carey May 2015, and her Master of Business Administration / Finance Degree from Columbia Southern University October 2018. She also received her Indoor Cycling Instructor Certification in April 2019. She worked as a Loan Specialist with the United States Small Business Administration.
Though she had many interests, baking was her passion which lead to her starting the business "Heavenly Treats". She enjoyed teaching cycling classes during her time in Irving, TX. MeLinda also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and meeting new people and helping people. She was undoubtedly the favorite aunt and absolutely adored all her nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her father, and a sister (Alice R. McDougle).
MeLinda leaves to cherish her special and loving memories, her mother Sadie P. Gray of Waynesboro, MS; one brother Willie E. Gray, Panama City, FL; five sisters Jeanette (Gregory) Edwards, Jonesboro, GA; Carol (Curtis) Smith, Lynn Haven, FL; Delether Gray, Maggie (Rev. Marvin) Chapman all of Waynesboro, MS; MAJ Janas L. Gray, D.V.M., Wheaton, MD; five nephews Victeur (Charmeka) L. Gray, Charles (Tamela) D. McDougle, Willie E. Gray, Jr., Gregory B. Edwards, Jr., Creighton C. Chapman, and three nieces Gabriel S. Smith, Marissa A. Chapman, and Haleigh D. Chapman and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind three close cousins, Sonya Gray, Deliah Gandy-Sumlin, and Keith Moore.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 2:30 PM at Pleasant Grove MB Church, with Rev. Marvin Chapman officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
The wake will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home.
