Marissa Jalin West

Marissa Jalin West was born on January 8, 1997, in Waynesboro, Ms. to Ms. Gloria D. West (deceased) and Mr. Steven Gandy. 

Marissa attended Waynesboro High School, Jones Junior College, and The University of Mississippi where she excelled in her studies. In her down time, she enjoyed shopping, hanging out with friends and spending time with her nieces. With her confident strides, her fashionable outfits and impeccable taste in fashion always made a statement. Marissa accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Kings Chapel Church of Aquilla, AL.

Marissa was preceded in death by her mother Ms. Gloria D. West, and her grandfather Mr. Frank West.

Marissa leaves to cherish her loving memories: her grandmother: Lola B West, three brothers: Omah (Chanika) West, Sevin (Kimberly) Gandy, and Steven Markivous Gandy; one sister:  Brandaisha Smith; one nephew: Caleb, two nieces: Jaliyah and Kaliyah, Cousins:  Jamone, Christopher, and Cameron; and  A host of beloved cousins and many friends that will miss her.

Funeral services were held Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 10:00 AM at King’s Chapel Cemetery in the Aquilla community (Millry, AL), with Rev. Donald R. Gandy as the officiant.
