MRS. MAMIE RUTH TURNER was born in Quitman, MS to the union of the late Mr. Houston Jones and Mrs. Emma (nee Pugh) Jones. She married Pernellus Turner and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Richton, MS. Upon completing business school, she was a supervisor for Speigel’s in Chicago, IL until she retired.
Her favorite pastime was gardening.
Her earthly journey came to an end January 3, 2023 at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, MS.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Emma Grace, Mary Frances, and Doris, and four brothers: Houston Jones II, Jerrold, Arthur, and Atterberry (“A.J.”)

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sunrise Cemetery in Richton, MS, with Rev. Billy Ray Benn officiating.
By the family’s request, the funeral will be live-streamed.
