Lisa (Cooley) McGill

LISA COOLEY McGILL was born on June 12, 1969 to the late Elmira Cooley McDonald and Allen “A. C.” Edwards. 
 

LISA was a 1987 graduate of Quitman High School, where she served as Class Treasurer. She was a member of Center Ridge Baptist Church and often attended Sweet Hope MB Church until her health failed. 
 

LISA was employed with the Quitman School District for 25 years and after retirement, she loved children so much, she opened her own personal daycare. 
 

LISA was a devoted wife to her wonderful husband of 11 years, Tommy McGill, Sr. 
 

LISA was preceded in death by her loving mother, Elmira Cooley McDonald; her father, A. C. Edwards; her maternal and paternal grandparents; one brother, Anthony Lavar Dixon, and her precious little girl, Carrie Louise Charles. 
 

LISA leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband:  Tommy McGill, Sr.; three daughters;  Ashley Cooley, Franchesca Charles, and Leola Charles; one son:  Robert Charles, III; a stepfather:  Jessie McDonald; five grandsons:  Tiberius, TaMarious, Ty’lan, Keshaun, and Zion; six bonus children:  Timothy Young, Tommy McGill, Jr.,  Anthony McGill, Javier Kinsey (Natali), Kiara McGill, and Jadarius McGill; two bonus grandchildren:  Nova and Ki’yori; one brother:  Morris Jasper; ten sisters:  Tammy Cooley, Tina (Chris) Thigpen, Fatosha (Tyrone) Bynum, Alonda (Tommy) Crockett, Anesha Edwards, LaToya Whigham, Bysheaca McDonald, Annika (Theodore) Buckles, Andrea Hodge, and Mayonda Edwards. One sister in law:  Dorothy “Sally” Steale; two brothers in law: Billy McGill and Douglas (Lisa) McGill; one godson:  Karter James; a loving son at heart:  Kendal Allen; a life long best friend:  Debra Warren, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, daycare babies and other relatives and friends. 
 

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Center Ridge Baptist Church in Shubuta, MS with Dr. Lorenzo Carter officiating. Interment followed at Little Zion Cemetery in Shubuta, MS. 

There was a viewing period Friday afternoon, April 14, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home.
