Mr. Lessie Lamar (Kenny Ray) Kirksey was born on October 22, 1971 to the late Ms. Alice Kirksey and the late Mr. Ellis Thomas of Waynesboro, MS. He was also raised by Veronica Shanks. He departed his earthly life on January 12, 2023 in Waynesboro, MS. At an early age, he joined St. Luke Methodist Church in Matherville, MS. He loved his family, his children, and grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his sweet memories his loving fiancée, Sherry Everett; his grandmother, Mrs. Rosie Kirksey; two sons: Drayshon Taylor and Alex Waller; one daughter: Keenan McGill; two granddaughters: Kenedii McGill and Sameriyah Jordan; four stepchildren: Ayeshion (Antonyo) Davis, Uneeka Spencer, Sherreon (Claude)Jordan and Michael Everett all of Waynesboro, MS.
Kenny Ray was also survived by eight loving brothers: Maurice (Lakita) Shanks, Donald Terrell, Eric Shaw, James Carter, and Kiko Kirksey, all of Waynesboro MS, Dennis (Tracey) Kirksey of Dayton, OH, Charles (Tamela) Kirksey of Quitman, MS and Tim (Lydashia) Carter of Nashville, TN; five loving sisters: Crystal Shanks, Lashonda Shanks and Kimberly (Maurice) Davis all of Waynesboro, MS, Theresa (MTesa) Conyers of Dayton, OH, and Shabrya Slater of Hattiesburg, MS; two aunts: Gail Kirksey and Carrie Kirksey; one uncle, Mandale Kirksey and one great uncle, James Kirksey of State Line, MS.
Kenny Ray was loved by so many people from all over. He will be truly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, friends, as well as two close friends: Charles Lacey and Marcus Pugh, both of Waynesboro, MS.
Funeral services for Mr. Lessie Lamar Kirksey will be held Monday, January 23, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Winchester Church of God in Christ in Waynesboro, MS, with Elder George Fairley as the officiant. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
There will be a viewing period Monday, January 23, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the church, prior to the funeral.
