Larry Darnell (Little Wine) Taylor, was born on December 7, 1955 to Hettie B. Taylor-Mitchell and Roy C. Mason in Wayne County, MS. He joined C&J Holiness Church at an early age. He was one of the best drummers around and played a little guitar.
Larry departed this life Friday, August 11, 2023. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry and Tracy Taylor; a nephew, Marlo Sargent; his step father, Robert Mitchell; his aunt, Lula B. Frost, and maternal and paternal grandparents: Johnny and Nettie Gray and Selma and Willie Mae Mason.
Larry leaves to cherish his memories his loving, caring, and devoted mother: Hettie B. "Muh" Taylor-Mitchell of Waynesboro, MS; his father: R.C. Mason of Ypsilanti, MI; a very devoted brother: Jessie L. Taylor; seven sisters: Mildred Taylor, Faye Taylor, Willie Mae Jackson, Valerie Taylor, Del Taylor, and Amy Taylor all of Waynesboro, MS and Mavis Taylor Smooth of Slidell, LA; a brother, Roy Hundley of Ypsilanti, MI; one aunt: Rosa Lee Hayes, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM at New West Point MB Church, with Rev. Chance Taylor as the officiant. Interment will follow at Taylor Family Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
There will be a viewing period Friday, August 18, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home.
