KSANZRA RENUA POWE-McLAUGHLIN was born on July 17, 1959 to the late Mr. Willie Curtis and Mrs. Retha (nee Avery) Powe. "Kay" joined Pineville Missionary Baptist Church at a very young age.
Ksanzra gained her eternal healing around 1:38 AM at UMMC in Jackson, MS. She is preceded in death by her son, Chadwic Jamale Powe; her loving parents, her older sister: Willie Jewel Pace, and four brothers: Mikel, Sr., Cecil, Clifton, and Edward Powe, Sr.
Affectionately known to many as "Kay," she attended Clara High School where she played basketball and graduated with the class of 1977. She attended William Carey University. During her early years, she was employed at Southern Que and The Wayne County News.
Ksanzra later met Milton McLaughlin and on May 18, 1983, they were joined in holy matrimony. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters: Arlessa Chemerr (Billy) Blakley and Wylisa Chemon (Ricky, Sr.) Wilson; three loving grandchildren: Chad, Ava, and Micah; eight siblings: Connie (Donald), Emerr (Dave), Scherece, Kentrell, Catina, John Luke, Marshall (Minnie), and Larry. She is also survived by two aunts: Velma Young and Mildred Everett; three sisters-in-law: Billie, Margaret and Carolyn. There are so many nieces and nephews who she cherished and was proud so of their accomplishments.
uneral services will occur Monday, July 17, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Pineville MB Church, with Rev. Sam McDonald as the officiant. Interment will be held at the church cemetery.
There will be a viewing period Sunday, July 16, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home.
