KENDRICK “Pookey” POWE was born on February 3, 1976 to Lenon and Carlene Powe. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on November 29, 1992. He was part of the Waynesboro Congregation until his death on July 28, 2023.
He leaves to cherish a loving wife, Laverna Worsham Powe, and three children, two from his wife and one from Candy Glenn: Zacharacy Powe, Tyler Powe, Chase Powe, and one grandson, all of Waynesboro, MS. Kendrick is also survived by his parents: Lenon and Carlene Powe; three brothers: Leon Powe, Cedric (Lekisha) Powe, and Lenon (Kelliescha) Powe, Jr.; one sister: Nicole Powe, aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Jimmy “Mr. Tot” Powe, Mary Powe, Cleo Smith and Daisy Smith. He will be missed by family and many friends.
“For He said, ‘I will never abandon you, I will never leave you.’”-Hebrews 13:5.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Kingdom Hall in Waynesboro, with Bro. A. C. Baker and Bro. Gary McCoy officiating. Interment followed at Waynesboro Cemetery.
There was a viewing period Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home.
