USN Veteran Petty Officer 1st Class Jimmy Bruce Blakely was born December 16, 1959 to Ella M. and Rev. Henry B. Blakely. He was the sixth child of six. Jimmy’s eternal journey began March 16, 2022 at Asbury Hospice in the presence of his wife, daughter, and other loved ones. 
 

Jimmy joined the Philadelphia MB Church at an early age. He had faith in God and lived accordingly until his death. 
 

He was a graduate of Buckatunna High School, Class of 1978. He worked at NECO MF Company to include other laboring jobs until he joined the Navy. He served nine years as an STG Acoustic Analyst and Instructot. He was a Gulf War veteran and served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Jimmy received the Battle “E” Award, and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. Jimmy was employed with Masonite for over 25 years. 
 

As a young man, Jimmy met Annette. To that union, one daughter, Jennifer, was born. They celebrated each other’s love in marriage until his eternal departure. 
 

Those preceding him in death:  (father) Rev. Henry B. Blakely (2001), (mother) Ella M. Barlow Blakely (2019), (brother) Henry B. Blakely, Jr. (1979), (paternal grandparents) Oscar and Mattie Blakely, (maternal grandparents) Rev. Jim and Alice Gates Barlow, and (foster maternal grandparents) Robert and Leah Gates Davis, sister in law Lynn Blakely (2020), and many other loved ones. 
 

USN Veteran Jimmy leaves behind a large family to cherish his memories:  lovely and caring wife, Annette Blakely; one devoted daughter, Jennifer R. Warren of Buckatunna; loyal, loving and precious grandchildren, Jeniya and Terry Ruffin of Buckatunna;  two brothers:  Rev. Master Sergeant Billy (Mary) Blakely of Georgia, Ret. Colonel Freddie (Madelyn) Blakely of Kentucky; two sisters:  Gloria D. Blakely of Buckatunna, and Ret. Master Sergeant Francine  (Ret. Sergeant First Class Marcus) Blakely Smith of Northern Virginia, a loving and dedicating uncle, Robert Davis of the Pineville community to include his children Felix, Tina, and Stacy. Ten (10) nieces and nephews, Eleven (11) great nieces and nephews; parents in law:  Mack Clinton and Asilee Warren, three sisters in law, eight brothers in law, and a host of other loving family members and faithful friends. 
 

Funeral services will occur Monday, March 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Philadelphia MB Church in Buckatunna MS. Rev. Darron Chapman will officiate the services. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. 

Masks must be worn by attendees, and hand sanitizer will be given upon entry. 

There will be a viewing period for Mr. Blakely Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home.
