JAMES was born to the late Mr. James (JT) and Laurena Turner in Hattiesburg, MS on March 9, 1954. James attended public school at Sasta Jewish Vocal in St. Louis, MO. After high school, he attended Forest Park College in St. Louis MO, Wayne State University in Detroit MI, and the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS with a specialization in law and psychology.
He was a manager at the Emerald Resort for 7 years before starting a shuttle service in Pensacola Beach, FL with his brother, Richard. He was very close to his family and friends, and he will truly be missed.
He leaves behind his daughter, Nichole L. (Turner) Peterson through his marriage in May of 1974 with his former wife, Sadie Peterson (Shaw); son in law Omar Peterson, two grandkids: Armand F. Gauda and Airyal J. Gauda, his sisters: Lula Mae Turner, Elaina Turner, Cheryl Bowden (Peters), and Dorothy J. Lee; his brother, Richard Turner, and several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
JAMES has gained his wings and is ow being welcomed home by his family who preceded in death: his mother, father, Uncle Mid, his sister Grace, his nephews Charmdar and Diego, his niece Contrena, great nephew Julius, and great niece Contreya.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 2:30 PM at James Chapel Cemetery in Quitman. There was a viewing period for Mr. Turner Friday, March 4, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home in Waynesboro.
