James Earl “Pom” Cooley, Sr.

Mr. James "Pom" Cooley, Sr. was born on March 20, 1958 to the late Cecil "Lep" Cooley, Sr. and Mae Helen Cooley in Waynesboro, MS.

He was independent contractor by trade. He was also a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.

James was preceded in death by four siblings; Cecil Cooley, Jr., Dorothy Talley, Lykisa Arrington and Michael Cooley.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Jackie Cooley; five children, Jaquilla (Stephen) Jones, James Earl Cooley, Jr., Tommy Chambers, Javarius Cooley and Asia Pickett Cooley; two brothers, Labarron ( Carolyn) Cooley and Kenneth Everett; one sister, Sandra (Hillry) Johnson; grandchildren, Jaedyn and Jordyn Jones; two brother in-laws, Terry Talley and Christopher Arrington; one sister in-law, Gloria Cooley; special cousin, Kathy Mayfield Gandy; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins  

Funeral services will occur Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Waynesboro Cemetery, with Rev. Donald Gandy officiating.
