HENRY CHAPMAN was born April 27, 1939 to Huey Chapman and Winnie Pickens of Waynesboro, MS. He moved from Mississippi to Chicago, IL where he worked for Ford Motor Company. After retiring, Henry moved back to his hometown of Waynesboro and became a dedicated member of Pleasant Grove MB Church, where he served on the usher board.
On the afternoon of August 2, 2023, Henry entered eternal rest at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Earl Chapman, and a stepmother: Ida Jones.
HENRY leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Jo Ann Chapman (Robert); one stepson: Richard Steel of Waynesboro, MS; two sisters: Rubie Pearl (Henry) White of Kansas City, KS and Debbie (Joe) Harris of Buckatunna, MS; two brothers: Kenneth Rand of Jonesboro, GA and Herbert (Genora) Chapman of Gulfport, MS; two granddaughters: Tiffany (Maurice) Milsap and Misty Chapman both of Waynesboro, MS; five great grandkids: Rejanah Powe, Ariona Powe, Lekilo White, Tyshonna Chapman, and Ty’Jonay White, all of Waynesboro MS; a special aunt: Gertti Mae Wooten of St. Louis, MO, and a dedicated best friend: Lester “Coke” Mitchell of Waynesboro, MS, along with nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Waynesboro, with Rev. John E. Lacey officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
There will be a viewing period for Mr. Chapman Friday, August 11, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home.
