MY LIFE’S PROFILE:
Graceline Jones Conerly, 72, of sunny Stone Mountain, GA, passed away on June 11, 2022, with her son by her side.
Graceline, born on June 13, 1949 to Percy V. Sanders and Lourinda Jones in Rose Hill, MS, immediately brought joy and laughter into the world.
Graceline fell in love with cooking, which started her long love for cooking Soul Food.
Graceline moved to New Orleans, LA in the late 1960s. She later gave birth to three wonderful sons: James, Ulysses, and Dwayne. In 1975, she met the love of her life, Lonnie “Poke” Conerly, and the two were inseparable from that point on. They were married for 16 years until the untimely passing of Lonnie in 1997.
Graceline was a fiercely dedicated mom to all of her children. Family came first and was above all else to Graceline, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.
She was a long time employee at the Double Tree Hotel where she worked for over 25 years, earning herself a 4 Start Supervisor position. She retired from her illustrious career of housekeeping in 2004 and relocated to State Line, MS before finally moving to Stone Mountain, GA where she lived until her untimely death in 2022.
