Charvez DeTonio “Tone” Simmons

June 4, 1994 ~ January 25, 2024 (age 29) 29 Years Old

Charvez Simmons Obituary

Charvez DeTonio (Tone) Simmons was born to Janita Simmons Milsap and the late Mr. Mark Steven Milsap at Wayne General Hospital on June 4, 1994.  At an early age, he joined Old St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.  During his time here, he was an employee of WalMart and TK Stanley, Inc.

TONE spent a majority of his time in the St. John community amongst his family and friends who he loved dearly. Growing up with the nickname “Mann,” he later became known by “Tone.”  There on that porch, you could find Tone minding his business, listening to music, and giving out free advice. Tone enjoyed his dogs, his guns, fishing, food, and watching TV. Tone didn’t mind being a helpful hand nor a listening ear to anyone. His happiness was based on other people’s feelings-if you were happy, then so was Tone.

Tone leaves cherished memories behind with his loving mother, Janita Simmons Milsap (Waynesboro, MS); two sisters:  Charmaine “Shay” Bridges (Waynesboro, MS) and Markeya “Keekee” Bonner (Eucutta, MS), and a nephew whom he considered as his “li’l dude,” Jaias Hall (Waynesboro, MS).

Tone is preceded in death by his father, Mark Steven Milsap (Heidelberg, MS), his grandparents Tommie and Johnnie Mae Simmons (Waynesboro, MS), Ray C. and Geneva Cooley (Heidelberg, MS), his great grandparents Bennie and Armatha Bonner (Waynesboro, MS), and his baby brother, Chartez “Nuke” Milsap (Waynesboro, MS).

Tone had a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and a best friend, Kwanzaa McCann (Waynesboro, MS).

He also leaves special friends and cousins:  Lonnie Bonner, Jr., Jaleshia Jones, Leevan Bonner, R’Monte Hayes, Steven McDougle, Benjamin Jordan, Natasha Gandy, Mar’ka Gandy, Devon Scott, Latavius Hayes, Keyshawn Everett, Zachary Hayes, Tyler Rhodes, Justin Robinson, and Ar’keyius Gandy.
