Ms. Belinda Mayfield (“Lynn”) was born on October 4, 1966 to Mildred Mayfield and the late Eddie Lee Mayfield in Waynesboro, MS. She departed this life on May 25, 2022 in Roswell, GA. She was a 1984 graduate of Waynesboro Central High School and the University of Southern Mississippi where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.
Belinda was a social worker for the state of Georgia. She was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, goddaughter, godmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.
She joined Pine Grove Baptist Church at an early age and attended until she moved to Hattiesburg, MS where she became a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Upon moving to Atlanta, GA, she attended World Changers Church International.
She enjoyed singing, shopping, attending church, traveling, going to the movies and talking on the phone.
Belinda was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Mayfield. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories her mother: Mildred Mayfield; her sisters: Doris Jones of Sandusky OH and Vertesha Mayfield of Waynesboro, MS; two brothers: Larry Powe and Keith Mayfield of Waynesboro MS; a godmother: Hattie Belches; a godson, Jamoni Mayfield, as well as a host of nieces, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services for Ms. Belinda Mayfield will occur Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Waynesboro, MS, with Rev. Donald E. Miller as the officiant. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
