Azavein Jonta Malik Hill

Mr. Azavein Jonta Malik Hill was born on November 17, 2003 to Ms  Linda Hill and Mr  Jonathan “Big Daddy” Wilson in Laurel, MS.

Azavein accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Sweet Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He was very smart and graduated a semester early from Wayne County High School.  “Zae,” as he lovingly called, was a compassionate, thoughtful, loyal, silly, mature, and well loved young man. He was currently working at Sanderson Farms and had plans of attending Jones Junior College to earn an Associates degree in Engineering.

He departed this life on May 20, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Delois Hill; grandfather, Andrew “Butch” Bivins; great grandmother, Hattie Mae Hill; and brother, LaDarius Quantae Keshaun Hill.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother:  Linda (Adrian Richey) Hill; sister, Kaylei Hill; uncles:  Patrick (Rose) Hill and Desmond (Alana Lang) Hill, aunt:  Patricia (Rose) Gray, all of Buckatunna MS; godmother:  Mekel (Teryl) Richardson-Williamson of Memphis, TN; grandfathers:  Joe (Debbie) Harris of Buckatunna MS, Edward (Mafalda) Taylor of Eret, MS and John Earl (Zattis) Woods, and grandmother Dorothy Wilson both of Waynesboro MS; a special friend:  Pakiitra Hamilton, and a host of great aunts, great uncles, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sweet Pilgrim Baptist Church in Buckatunna, officiated by Rev. Donald R. Gandy. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. 

There will be a memorial period Friday, May 26, 2023 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home.
