BROTHER ARTIS HODGE, JR. was born on April 20, 1943 to the late Sis. Laura (Everett) Hodge and Bro. Artis Hodge, Sr. An angel of mercy came into his life on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at Pineview Health & Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro, MS.
He attended Sweet Hope Baptist Church as a child and later joined the Church of Christ in Waynesboro, MS. In his younger years, he served in the United States Air Force for some time. After he served in the Air Force, he worked in transportation for over 10 plus years.
Brother Hodge was united in matrimony to the former Teresa Ramey.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Sis. Laura Everett Hodge and Bro. Artis Hodge, Sr.; his stepmom: Sis. Bethel Hodge; three brothers: Ernest Hodge, Hannon Hundley, and Lee Author McGay, and two sisters: Annie Pearl Knight and Pauline Hodge McCann.
His precious memories will be cherished by his four sisters: Deloris (Roger) Morgan, Betty Jean Hodge, Shirley (Melton) Dawkins, and Joann (Dave) Gulley all of Waynesboro, MS; four brothers: Eddie (Ellar) Hodge, Leslie L. Hundley, both of Waynesboro, MS, Jeffrey (Catherine) Hodge of St. Louis, MO, and Thomas M. Hundley of Seattle, WA; a devoted aunt: Lillian Hodge of Lisman, AL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 3:30 PM at Turner Funeral Home, with services officiated by Pastor Wendy Cassidy. Interment will follow at Waynesboro Cemetery.
There will be a viewing period Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home.
