Aaron Charles Johnson

MR. AARON CHARLES “Poncho” JOHNSON was born September 13, 1956 in Chicago, IL to Lillian and Charles Johnson, who both preceded him in death. He has five siblings:  John Henry, George, Mesha, Geneese, and John. 
 

AARON accepted Christ at Greater Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, IL. He worked in many hotels, nursing homes, and finally KFC before he was disabled in 1998. He loved playing cards, dancing, sports, and loved to give love to his family and friends. 
 

AARON passed away at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago, IL on July 10, 2023. 
 

He is survived by his stepson, Dana Jordan; siblings:  John Henry, George Shreef, Misha Miller, Geneese “GG”Davenport, and John Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 
 

Funeral services in Chicago were held Friday, July 21, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Greater Metropolitan Baptist Church in Chicago, IL with Rev. Michael Runnels officiating. Taylor Funeral Home was in charge of the Chicago arrangements. 
 

Funeral services in Mississippi were held Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 2:30 PM at Sweet Pilgrim Cemetery in Shubuta, MS, with Rev. Kevin Carter as the officiant.
