Darryous Degan Olivas

Darryous Degon Olivas was born in Anaheim, CA on June 6, 2004 to Leticia Olivas and James Jones. He later moved to the Mississippi Coast at the age of 6.  He enjoyed baseball mostly of all sports. As a teenager,  Darryous grew to love and make music. He was a member of Chapel Hill Missionaary Baptist Church where he served as an Usher.  His pastor, Rev. Bolton grew fond of him, giving him the name “Hightop.”

Darryous (Pooda) answered God's call on Friday, March 29, 2024. He leaves to cherish his life a beautiful daughter, Sa'Riyah Olivas with Shambria Hall, mother: Leticia Olivas Williams, father: James Jones, sisters: Deja Conner, Claire McKenna, Jamekia Leggins, Kiera Leggins, brother: Cody Jones; stepson: Kaiden Hall, and his best friend and brother Curtis Law.

His loving memories are chreished by his family; his loving grandmother, Collie Jones, Loving Uncles: Alexander (Rita) Jones, Curtis (Nadine) Jones, Anthony (Barbara) Jones, Darrell Jones; Loving Auntie: Jeanette Jones and a host of other relatives and friends.

"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born. and a time lo die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted."-Ecclesiastes 3:1-2.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Danny Ray Bolton officiating. Interment will follow at Waynesboro Cemetery. 

The viewing period will occur Friday, April 12, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home.
